An Annotated Bibliography of the Sweet Pea
Many of the publications listed in this sweet pea bibliography are obscure and/or ephemeral, and so details are sparse. They have been included for the sake of completeness, and in the hope that others will be able to supply some of the missing information. Some publications are undated; they are marked 'ND' and placed in approximately the correct chronology.
The aim has been to include any sweet pea publication that exists as an entity in its own right, but not articles in magazines or scientific journals. Two sweet pea publications have eluded me: one written by T. A. Weston (DeLaMare, NY) and the other by E. J. Castle (Cassell, London), both published between 1911 and 1929. I can find no details for either, not even a title. They may be references to sections in more general works and so not eligible for inclusion, but it would be interesting to know.
The text of many of the older books, including all the Cornell University Bulletins, is now available online, and I have provided links where appropriate. Each asterisk indicates a link to an online text.
